Walt Disney World

Sunday, we had a chance to go to Disney World with Rhett's Cousin, Julie and her family. The girls were in our wedding and we haven't seen them since then, so it was fun to see them again and spend time with the whole family. We had a great time. I'm glad they invited us to meet them there. Here are some pictures of our day. We stayed from 9-8:30 or so...whatever time the fireworks got over. We were exhausted, but they are here all week. Dont' know how they'll make it!

Bowling Night

Two Saturday nights ago a bunch of our friends went bowling...We met up with some friends from church at the bowling alley: Denny, Vickie, Ted, Chad, and of course us... Rhett was
un-be-liev-able. He won the first game. I won in gutter balls scoring only in the 30's. It was embarrassing but fun in spite of it.

Drive By

I was driving by the river front in downtown Sarasota a few days ago when I noticed this huge statue. I had to get some pictures. The river front has tons of statues, but this is the only one I've ever seen there that looks like something...the others are all modern art. I haven't really gotten into the modern art thing, but I really like this one.

Busch Gardens

Here are some of the pictures we took at Busch Gardens. We only saw a few things at the park. It was super cold and also very crowded since we went the day after Christmas. The one and only ride we went on was over an hour wait. The rest of the time we spent mostly at different shows.

Financial Peace

We're so excited about the orientation we went to yesterday for Financial Peace University. We're excited because while we may not be in debt up to our eyeballs, this class will help us use our money wisely and be good stewards. We actually read one of Dave Ramsey's books, The total Money make over and it literally changed our financial life while we were saving toward our house. Thanks to my sister, Karon, for the tip. Her family has also experienced success through this book.
Anyway, this class promises to be an invaluable resource for Rhett and I while we continue to work toward our goals. The course is at our church and lasts for 13 weeks. We'll tell you how it goes. Oh, and here's the website if you are interested in finding out if there is a course near you...or if you would like to find out about his books which can also be purchased at Barnes and Noble or the cheapest is probably www.amazon.com

Playing Catch Up

We're hunkering down for some cold temps Florida style. It is suppose to be in the 30's tonight. I think we'll probably be skipping our nightly 2 mile walk around the neighborhood. My thin blood doesn't handle those temps too well. And Rhett's is thinning out as well.
Last week Rhett's Christmas present FINALLY came. The guy I ordered from never told me that he did not send out the order within the 48 hours he had promised. Instead, he sent it out 11 days later! But the post office delivered a pink slip to our door last Sabbath. We couldn't pick up the package on Monday since they were closed for the holidays, so we waited until Tuesday and flew home to get there before closing. Rhett thinks it was definitely worth the wait.

Happy New Year!

The holidays are quickly coming to an end. Only two more vacation days. One with Rhett. It's amazing how fast the days go when you are not at work. Today I was able to finish a scrapbook card project for submission. The computer won't let me submit it though. :-( Guess I won't be able to try to get my idea published this time. Oh well, I did have fun creating it and will be able to use it. Can't post it though...it's a mother's day project.

Here's my to do list before returning to work.

1. sketch and begin my 10 layouts for HOF 2006
2. print good pictures off of my digital camera
3. finish organizing scrapbook room...I'm dreading this one
4. pack away Christmas decorations for another year
5. decide on a time for our garage sale
6. finish things up for school
7. finish 4 shops on Tuesday
