Wow! We had a great Christmas break visiting with friends and family in Iowa. There was no snow and it was warmer than expected...my thin blood was still icing over though. The highlight of my trip was seeing my "little kids" from 5 1/2 years ago. They weren't even to my shoulders back then, but now, I'm to their shoulders...literally (well at least some of them) but none of them are shorter than me now. It was so weird to look at them eye to eye. I was really excited to see them. Some of them look so different I didn't even recognize them. It was so much fun.
We took lots of pictures...I'll post some soon. I was wishing I had my camera at the church so I could have taken pictures of my students and me...maybe next time.
Today my break officially ended...but obviously not my students' breaks. I only had 5 in class today. All four of our classrooms were really sparse. Maybe more will return tomorrow...I guess public school returns then and that's usually a factor. We'll see. But it was nice to have an easy day and also a short week of school this week to work us back into the routine.
