Hair Cuts and Other Things

It's been super busy around here. We've had company and lots of trips to look forward to. In between all of that, our little boy was beginning to look like a girl. With people referring to him as "her", we knew it was time for the inevitable first trip to get his hair cut. We were both wanting to let his curls stay behind and just take a little off so he would be able to see and be a little less girlie. Surprisingly, he took right to his hair cutting session. He just sat up straight and tall, looked into the mirror and watched the magic, that was his transformation, unfold before his eyes. We took him to Shortcuts for Kids. It's a salon that specializes in children's haircuts. His barber chair was a toy car raised up on a pole. They were playing a children's movie in the background. He got a little bag with his first curls and a certificate for his first cut. Toward the end of his haircut, he laid his head down on the side. I'm not sure if it was because he was all done, or he was just tired. All in all, it was an easy and non-threatening experience for him. I am so glad.
