It's all over

The school year is finally behind me. I am ready for some much needed rest. I'll be planning for a new year. This time I'll be teaching 1-4. It will be my first time teaching 4th grade full time. At one point my first year of teaching I had 4th grade with my 1st-3rd class for Bible and Social Studies. I love that age, so I'm really looking forward to it. We got out today at noon, but I have some things to finish up at the school The big thing is I'm moving to a room probably twice the size of my current room. I'm excited to be able to upgrade.

On a sad note, my cousins have a cousin on their other side, Jerico. He was in a bad crash on his dirt bike motorcycle thing...not sure what you call it. Anyway, this happened on his wife's first mother's day. He went out early with a friend to the track. One jump had been redone and no one is sure if he knew it or not. Anyway, something happened and he ran full speed into a hill. He was air flighted out of there and was put in a drug-induced coma. His family wasn't given much hope. They were told that if he did live at all he would probably be on a feeding tube the rest of his life and that he would have brain damage, but at that point they weren't sure.
Earlier this week, it seemed as if he was coming out of it a little better than everyone thought. But he still wasn't completely out of his coma, so no one knew for sure. Then last night he had a major stroke. It looks like only 1% of his brain is functioning. That part controls breathing. Anyway his wife and dad decided to take him off all medication and life support except the feeding and breathing tubes. The whole family needs prayers desperately. His wife is a stay-at-home mom to their baby girl and they have no medical or life insurance. Thankfully, her family has been able to be with her, but this is really going to be hard for her to make it though. You can check out a website that someone set up for Jerico's family. http://prayersforjerico.com/ (Last I saw, it wasn't completely together yet, but it is coming. And there is a picture of Jerico and his little girl.)
