Keeping Our Heads Above Water

(Lucky me...scrapbook page done for an online scrapook crop that was a lot of fun. We had to do four pages we had four hours...each challenge came out on the hour. The first was to create a layout based on the example of one called "Lucky Me". This was the one I created.)

What a busy time of year...summer is nipping at our heals. Only something like 23 more days of school before vacation and I'm trying to make plans for the summer.

My summer plans include
- Hopefully get some clients for tutoring. (Gotta start advertising this by the beginning of May)
- Work on some scrapbook projects that I'll finally have time for.
- Take my long-promised photography class...a gift for my 30th birthday in August 2005.
- Work on a team with my conference to create learning centers for our new reading curriculum...that's happening in July and I'm honored to be asked to help with this.
- Organize my class for next year. It's been a tough year so far, but with new prospects in leadership for the next school year it should be great!
- Work on some book ideas that have been swimming around in my head.
- Visit my sister in Missouri.
- Host a visit from my parents during the first few weeks of June.
-Attend a big teacher's convention in Tennessee in August. I'll see all the teacher's I've taught with during the last 8 years, see all my teaching relatives....there's lots of them, and see lots of college friends that I took classes with.

Our school year is ending in a relaxed way this year. I'm through with my last fieldtrip...yea!
We have two more programs left. Sabbath school for Mother's Day weekend. My kids will be singing a song, reading some origional poems about mother's and passing out Mother's Day baskets. I'm the leader for S.S. that day. Then we have graduation. It's mostly about the 8th grade, but I have one kindergarten student, so it will be about him as well although I won't have to do anything but hand him a diploma...the 8th grade really plans the whole thing.

Rhett's songs should be coming out sometime in May. Not sure when or how it will sound since he's given it to someone else for their upcoming CD... But still that's pretty exciting.

We've been asked to show a house from our friends who purchased a home a few miles from us. They moved away and bought one as an investment home. We already got one call about it and we are going out to see the house today...we haven't been there yet so we want to have the details before returning any calls. This will be a new experience for us and one that will help us when we decide to sell our own home...not for a while though.

Rhett's music is great as always. He had a brief concert with the Sabbath Keepers for Sabbath School. They played four songs. Next weekend they will have a vespers on the beach.
The youth group has also been after him to join their praise team band...so far we have not practiced with them, but that is in the works. Also, we found out that the new principal for the school next year...who is a lot like Rhett...(they really hit it off) plays bass guitar. That has been Rhett's complaint about why he doesn't ever do his songs anymore...he doesn't have anyone to play with him...well maybe soon he'll have no excuse... unless he thinks up a new one. Only time will tell.
