We've been very busy trying to keep up with all the "extra" projects we've taken on. I've been busy planning two different scrapbooking classes that I will be teaching. One is in October (2 complete pages to teach) and three are in February (same class three times, one page). I had to get all the supplies for the October one and make my page to be a sample. The one for February has to be planned too. I'm just getting ready to call my contact person with a supply list I just wrote up so they can purchase supplies.
On Sabbath we are debuting our new praise team. Rhett is one lead guitar and singing, Aaron, son of Denny is playing piano, Denny is on drums and singing, Dave (our new principal) is on bass guitar and singing and I'm just singing. Hopefully it will be fun. Too bad we're just doing it for Sabbath School and not church. We're doing several songs. I think six. I hope people like it. Of course they never really like change and we're only doing one or two hymns..but the songs we chose and the way we're doing them is very tame. Only time will tell...

Teacher's Meetings

I never did get around to posting anything from teacher's meetings. So, I thought I would share a few pictures from the week. I had something like 12 relatives there that are all teachers or married to teachers. I met my cousin, Darrel Reeve for the first time. He was excited to meet me and talk about Rhett. He taught Rhett in grade school. He asked what Rhett mentioned about his class, I couldn't really think of anything. So I asked him what kind of a student Rhett was. He said he was a good student from what he remembers, just "active".
The hotel we stayed in was the Opryland Hotel. It was beautiful! There were gardens, waterfalls, and even a lake with a boat that took people on rides. There were shops, restaurants practically a whole mall inside!
It was fun to meet up with my Outdoor Ed. friends again. We all went out to a Chineese place. (Wasn't the same as Yum Yums, but it was good. HAHAHA)

Women's Ministry
I got a call last week from the woman in charge of Women's ministries for the Florida Conference. Women's ministry retreats take place during the entire month of February on every weekend, so that's a whole lotta women! They are usually held at Camp Kalaqua. Anyway, she had heard about my scrapbooking your faith class that I did in April for just the West Coast and asked if I'd be willing to do three weekends at Camp Kulaqua during the woman's ministries weekends. http://www.campkulaqua.com/ I was so excited! There's not a lot of money involved, but I do get to attend the weekend for free and that's a huge savings of over $100 per weekend! They will also pay for the supplies, which is a step up from the west coast day. I told her that I would do two weekends becuase I was invited to only three (the other is in spanish) and I have a school function one weekend with a Valentine's Banquet and talent show. I think Rhett is going to do something, so I'm gonna cancel my women's thing to support him. I'm so excited! Can't wait!

Health Fair
Our church had a health fair today. I finally convinced Rhett to go down there with me. We were put through several evaluations on weight, blood pressure, pulse, and blood tests for cholesterol and triglicerines. I've never had anything done like this before so I thought it would be good for us to find out where we stand. Basically it was testing our likelihood of stroke or heart attack. I was frustrated when I saw that my cholesterol score was 176 (Not high...200 is high, but not low either.) and Rhett's was 121. We all know that Rhett doesn't eat healthy at all. Of course he went around bragging the whole time about his numbers and how fabulous his diet is. But my worst score was my pulse rate...72 for me...60 for Rhett. I still came out with "ideal" health when they tallied it all up together...Rhett can mention his if he wants to, but I better not! hehehe They tried to enroll me in a 1/2 marathon...NO WAY! My knees get to sore for that. (Thanks to the years of gymnastics.) I'm off to cook some healthy burritoes. The dietician recommended that I eat more fruits/vegetables, beans, nuts, and fiber. I'm going to do it. Rhett is suppose to also, but he's not going to do it.

Finally Scrappin"

Haven't had much time for scrapbooking lately, but I wanted to try one of Becky Higgins sketches for March. This is a layout about James' first spring break. We had a great time.
I've got a class that I have to plan coming up. I have to teach two pages for people to put together. That's in October. I'll be busy the next few weeks getting the layout examples done.
