I

My first day of summer vacation. My husband's day off. My babies' first day of summer break. Uninterrupted family time at the park. Surrounded by nature. And an afternoon spent with friends. In other words, a perfect day.

Park

Yesterday was our fist trip to the park with Juice Man walking. Can I just say that he owned that place! He knew exactly what he wanted to do. He did NOT want to swing in the baby swings (which was basically the only thing he could do before). Nope, he went straight to the climbing and slides. He even went to the biggest slide, the tornado, and would have sent himself shooting down the twists if it wasn't for his over-protective, helicopter mom who insisted that she ride the slide with him.

Celebrating at Sabbath School

Today we had a fun time celebrating Little Girl's birthday at Sabbath School. She was loving the songs that everyone sang for her. I posted the video on Facebook.
This afternoon, we hung out...took a four + hour nap, watched Bible videos for toddlers, and went on an afternoon walk. We even got to see a gopher turtle up close and personal. We always try to look for things Jesus made on our walks. I'm glad the babies got to see the turtle today. They really enjoyed it.

Playing Store

For her third birthday, little Baby Girl got a shopping cart and cash register. She was SUPER excited about it all. The other night, I brought out some boxes and cans from my pantry. I gathered up some of her craft lunch bags, and we opened up shop in our living room. She had great fun loading and unloading the cart, ringing up our groceries, and bagging everything up. It was an evening where her Daddy and I shopped until we dropped. And baby brother provided the elevator music in the background...

Teeth Brushin'

I'm not sure what it is about tooth brushing time that causes general craziness and fussing. Unless that is, they are doing the brushing themselves, but of course there has to be more than just them brushing their teeth...or they might fall out before they're ready. So, remembering a song from my high school days, I began singing,
Happy little teeth are we,
Singing so merrily.
Pretty and bright and oh so white,
Happy little teeth are we.
That took care of baby girl. She just opens right up, although she always wants a turn too.
But now what to do with Baby Boy to scrub those pearly whites. He is making some progress, but still wants to do it all himself.
Here's a picture of them doing the brushing all themselves last night. It ended with Baby Girl using her toothbrush on Brother's hair. Um...Yuck!

Conversations with a Three Year Old

Jade: Momma, I don't like when you leave me in bed?
Me: You mean you don't like me to leave at bedtime?
Jade: Yes. Why you leave me?
Me: Because it's nighttime. You need your beauty rest. Then you can be beautiful.
Jade: I booootiful. ;)

Yes, Baby Girl, you really are. Inside and out.
Love ya.

Tink Party

I'm not really sure who had more fun. I love that she is still young enough that we are inviting our friends to share in the celebration. She is too young to have her own party with friends...although she asked for Kimora and Kalhani to come to her's but we said no...that's another story. It was incredibly wonderful seeing and hanging out with our friends and family again. Last Sunday was the party. She was excited for days. On the day of the party, she almost wouldn't wear her Tinkerbell outfit. I finally convinced or tricked her with distraction into wearing it, although the wings were a no go.
