His and Hers Wheels and Other Things

We are finally emerging from two very crazy, busy weeks, maybe three. I've had two Sunday schools in a row at my school. Also in the mix, two days of teacher's meetings. Then there was preparation for parent teacher conferences. And then a work day that went from 7-7 with conferences all afternoon and evening following a regular school day. There has also been crazy, sleepless nights from teething pain for one little boy and his exhausted Momma. Dr. appointments and sickness for Daddy and a little girl. A new brake job on our Honda...And, five weeks ago, I began P90X...an intense workout system to get myself back into shape. So for a while, I was barely hanging on. In the midst of all that stuff, I was able to sneak in a few moments of peace with my little guys. We got them a new set of matching wheels that they have barely quit playing with since we purchased them days ago.

And does this look like a face that could get in trouble repeatedly this afternoon? (Photo taken of a very innocent looking boy while sitting out, waiting to get back up to play.)

Fall

I just love this time of year! I LOVE going to the pumpkin patch. We've been twice this week. To two different patches. The babies really enjoy it and I do too. These pictures were taken on Sunday and Friday at two different pumpkin patches.

This little man just grew into his first real suit. And I must say, he looked quite dapper in it!

Jude the Dude

Our little guy is growing and changing in so many ways.
Recently, he's taken to speaking simple sentences like:
"unt down" (want down), "all done", "unt help" (I want to help), or "unt eat".
He cleans up toys and is quite the helper.
He loves to help with making food (stirring, putting things on the pan, etc.)
His favorite songs are Only a Boy Named David He even falls down when the giant comes tumbling down and I'm too Young to March in the Infantry"
He gets all into it with the marching, but gets upset when the marching part is over and starts fussing. When we sing the songs with our instruments, he will always pic a teeny tiny orange maraca we have and he shakes it with gusto...or stuffs it in his mouth, which causes him to sometimes loose the maraca for not taking it out of his mouth.
His favorite place is outside...he stands at the door and says "Unt out!" (I want out!) Once outside, he plays in the playhouse. He really loves opening and shutting the door or climbing on the table (as you can see in these pictures). And he also loves trying to take over Sissy's dolly stroller if he gets 1/2 a chance. He buzzes around the yard with his play lawn mower and laughs and giggles when Daddy challenges him to a game of ball.
When I leave him in the morning I get different boys different mornings. Some mornings are easy. He will go up to the door of his school, knock and say, "Knock-knock." Once inside he races over to the table that is his size and starts to play or do whatever. When I leave he sometimes doesn't notice or sometimes he'll race back for a hug. Other mornings, he'll cling to my leg and cry. Then plaster his face on the glass of the door and say, "Mom!" I'll wave to him from my car and head out. I don't like mornings like those.
In our house, he loves to play with his cars and trucks. He also likes his plane which he calls a "Heene". Playing chase and hide and seek remain two of his favorite things to play. He gets so excited and is full of laughs.
He's a little boy who still loves to cuddle in the mornings and squirms when we rock him goodnight. He goes to bed easily and sighs or smiles or even giggles when we lay him down at night. I always tuck him in and give him a little kiss on his nose that is sprinkled with freckles. What a joy it is to be a momma to this little boy.
