This week has been AWSOME! First of all, it was teacher appreciation week...and we all got spoiled! Second, we had a 1/2 day with the kids on Monday and teacher time the rest of the afternoon.
For teacher's appreciation week, we were treated to some special surprises each and every day of the week.In my 13 weeks of teaching, I've never experienced anything like this! On Monday, we were surprised with breakfast during our teacher's worship. At lunch, we were treated again to some more food served on a fancy table cloth. Tuesday morning, we were greeted by the parent teacher student association leader with a bag of school supply goodies for each of us. Wednesday, we received a treat at lunch time. Thursday was my favorite day of all. It was arranged that each teacher would receive a 1/2 day off in the afternoon. I found out about it the day before and since Rhett gets off so early, we scheduled a date. It was so nice and just what I needed. We went out to eat and ran a few errands without hauling babies in and out of the car. Today, Friday, the whole school gathered in a special assembly where the principal passed out cards, chocolate, a certificate, a coupon for things around the school, and a gift card to Walmart along with lots of praise for each of us and cheering from the students. The assembly was followed by cake served to the teachers and all the students. It was a nice and surprising way to spend my first Teacher's appreciation week at my new school. I definitely left the week behind feeling more appreciated than I did at the beginning. We have two more weeks, and this was just what the Dr. ordered. I am so grateful!
