Here's what our vacation looked like.
Our vacation looked like two little kids excited about being able to go in a big airplane. It looked like Baby Girl asking if the airplane was coming to our house to pick us up, or if they would just throw down the stairs while they were flying so we could climb up.
Vacation looked like everything we had prayed for: snow, snow, and more snow. It was on the ground when we arrived and it didn't ever go away. More snow kept falling off and on the whole time we were there. It looked like temperatures that rarely made it past 0 degrees.
Vacation looked like two kids discovering all of Daddy's toys from childhood and playing for hours on end in the basement, which became their favorite place. It looked like the Batmobile, Godzilla, trucks, G.I. Joe, helicopters, lightbright, and many other things that entertained them during our stay.
Vacation looked like two little babies bundled in snow suits, hats, gloves, coats, and boots to help Grandpa feed the squirrels.
It looked like snow angels and sledding despite the negative 20 degree temperatures. It looked like ski masks and other warm clothes. It looked like Grandma, in her yellow rubber boots, sledding for the first time in forever. It looked like two little babies excited to taste the snow. It looked like sledding at Daddy's old favorite sledding park. It looked like two bundled up babies playing on the playground in the deep snow.
It looked like Christmas morning. And wrapping paper. And lots of saying "thank you." It looked like meeting cousins and aunts and uncles for the first time. It looked like two babies being spoiled by all those aunts and uncles.
It looked like Daddy reliving his childhood and building a fort that we played in for nearly two weeks. It looked like us making the saddest snowman ever, whom we named Olaf. And Daddy showing us how it was REALLY done and helping us make an amazing snowman.
It looked like going places, squeezed in like sardines, 4 adults and two littles in carseats in one car. It looked like eating out. It looked like decorating cookies with Grandma and getting sprinkle happy. It looked like building a gingerbread house and Grandma finally having to put it in a bag because the babies were sneaking too many pieces of candy.
It looked like a visit with my sister and her boys. It looked like shopping and going places. It looked like visiting with friends and visiting our old church.
It looked like a lot of fun....and it was!
