Crazy Busy

Crazy end to a crazy week.
Sunday: School beach trip...and pick up car from shop. Find out car is still not in tip top shape...will have to go back to shop tomorrow.
Monday: Send car back to shop. Luckily, they'll fix it for free and it doesn't need to be towed (again). 1/2 day at school but teacher's meetings in the afternoon.
Tuesday: Book character dress up day. Get Baby Girl dressed up as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and FINALLY decide I'll be Fern from Charlotte's Web because it's easy and I have overalls and Rhett has a plaid shirt and I have all the stuffed animal characters. Rush home to pick up Little Mr. so he can join Baby Girl for gymnastics class and be on time. We were down to only one car, so there was no other option. Got there just in time...and Baby Girl's leotard is still missing...sigh. Make a note to buy another one. Drop my babies at gymnastics and head over to drop off the carpool rider at his house. Drive back to gymnastics in time to catch the last few minutes. Come bearing a pizza that we can eat in the car afterwards while we head off to pick up our car at the shop for the second time in one week.
Wednesday: Wacky-tacky day at school. Rush to school to get wackier and tackier cause I just can't bring myself to drive in my full wacky tacky gear...I mean, what will the other drivers think? Rush home after school to sew some patches on Little Mr.'s Adventurer club uniform, but do not get them all on. It will have to do. Didn't even add one of Baby Girl's new patches to her sash. Rush to Adventurers club in time for induction and then rush off to Target for a little shopping for a gift I needed to purchase for the weekend, but with the rest of my busy schedule, this was the one time I had available...yes 8:00 p.m....an hour past my children's bedtime.
Thursday: Spend half of my getting ready time in the morning searching the garage for my long lost ice skates...I just saw them a week ago while cleaning that thing out. Finally find them and get dressed for sports day at school...as an ice skater. Get Baby Girl dressed as a baseball player. After school, rush home after calling and telling Rhett what to fix for supper. After dropping my car pool rider off, sit down and shovel in a bite to eat. Then head to the church for praise team practice. Try to sing and keep the kids entertained for 2 or so hours ....not an easy feat. Near the end, discover a bulletin for this week and notice my name is in it for children's story. Thankful that I noticed it now and not on Sabbath morning. Rush back home....kids need a bath, but it's one of those days...or weeks. They just don't get one. Again.
Friday: Rush out the door, drop off Little Mr. Decide to stop by Dunkin Donuts...cause I need some sugar ...and a break from fixing food...or doing anything for that matter. The line is of course a ten or so minute wait. But that's O.K. I still have thirty-five minutes. But then I get caught at a light...for two cycles. Eight minutes later I'm on my way again. ...noticing that I might be late for work. The kids are instructed to get their things back in their back packs, cause I was going to be late now. We come squealing into the parking lot and rush out of the car and to my meeting eyeing the clock on the wall....7:30, it says. I'm right on time. Spend 2 or so hours outside monitoring the walk-a-ton at school. Spend dismissal trying to not have a melt-down as my daughter cries and complains and melts down from lack of sleep the night before and walking 5 miles at the walk-a-thon. At one thirty, after dropping off my students for the day and loading at least three stacks of school books (my grading homework for the weekend) into the car, I get everyone in and rush off to Wal-mart to get a few things for the baby shower I  planned for this weekend...before I knew the insanity of my week. Then to drop my carpooler off. Then home with an hour and 10 minutes to spare to get my house cleaned (somewhat) from my crazy-busy week before spending a few minutes teaching sewing class to a girl from church (so excited about that one...she's a natural).
Sabbath: Rush to church, get there early. Do two children's stories, for two different services. Teach cradle roll in between. And do two sets of music for the praise team. Get myself home for a little bit before heading back in for vespers...a sing-a-long and Rhett is helping to lead out. Then a movie night.
Yeah, it's been that kind of week. Crazy, busy, blessed. And surprisingly, I'm not stressed. I just need my Sabbath.
