What a fun time we had at our Adventurer Club Campout (a scouting program for kids through our church). I enjoyed spending time at Camp Kalaqua, where every summer I would spend 2 fabulous weeks at summer camp as a kid. I also remember my Pathfinder days (the older part of the scouting program through our church) and all the campouts we took there. Many things have changed, but many more things have stayed the same. It was great to show my babies around and watch them enjoy the camp as much as I always did....and still do.
Of course a trip to camp would not be the same without a visit to the horse barn. We didn't get to go on a trail ride, but we had fun (and were a bit scared, at least the kids) feeding the horses some grass.

We worked on all kids of honors. These two earned I think about 8 or 9 patches this weekend...we just have to finish a couple of requirements for the leaf and the tree honors. I think little girl might need a new sash soon.
It was fun to hear the story of Noah and learn to make balloon animals. A little chaotic when you are teaching about a 100 or so kids, step by step and only have a few balloon pumps to share and balloons keep bursting and needing replaces, but fun nonetheless.

Playing guitar. He's back in his groove again. And even got drafted (spur of the moment) to play for worship....and was amazing as always.
Working on the sunflower honor. And this little guy colored this entire flower (mostly) without help. Which is a huge step in the right direction....seeing how he usually wants nothing to do with coloring except to watch me do it. He's such a little perfectionist and I was proud that he even gave it a go. And stayed (mostly) in the lines, making him super proud of himself.

I loved getting to see my babies run wild in nature. Something they can't really do in our five or so feet of grass that surrounds our house.

How much longer will he be able to do this? He just might be needing a chiropractor adjustment soon. But it's hard to tell whether it was from lugging these two around or sleeping on the ground for two nights straight.
The bounce houses were a BIG hit at the fun day on Sunday.

Pony rides. I was amazed at this automatic pony ride thing. The lady just pushed a button and the bars started to move around the circle. Then the horses started walking along. It was just like a (non-living) carnival ride.
Such fun to ride the horses, too bad they wanted extra money to do it instead of building it into the cost of the weekend.
