We were suppose to head to a nearby theme park one day on our week off. But due to a series of unfortunate events, that seemed like it was not going to happen. However, today, we ran out to do a couple of errands and found ourselves in an area that was nearby and since Baby Girl was seeming to feel a lot better after her flu shot, we spontaneously decided to head on over to the park for some fun.

This little guy loves to do crazy faces, as you can see, whenever I want to get a great shot. Loved these stars as a backdrop.
 Kissy fish lips.
 Crazy Dude.
Excitement over flying the Red Baron.
This girl is fearless when it comes to rides. She will try anything...and usually wants to go on it again and again. I tried this ride once when Little Mr. decided he wanted to ride. After that, we both knew we had had enough. Now we watch her from the sidelines. Her mouth was stretched wide open as far as it could go throughout the entire ride. I asked her if she was screaming. She said no. I told her that it looked like she was and she informed me that she was just scared. But I think she's ready to go again.
A ride down the Nile River.
Meeting and getting to pet an enchinda. Awesome!

Adventurer Super Fun Day

Adventurer Fun Day was a hit with these two. We spent the morning at the Adventurers events and the afternoon at the fair.

So proud of my Baby Girl for saying all 13 memory verses at the Fun Day and earning her memory verse pin. What I can't believe is that out of well over 1000 kids, only she and about 11 others took the challenge. Really?

Ending our Day

Ending our day and our work week like this feels amazing. Loved visiting the nature park with the familiy. Time picnicing, on the playground, biking, walking, playing soccer, and swimming in the very cold water was good for the soul.

Little Conversations

Little Mr. (On the way home after buying groceries at Walmart): Mom, did we just pay $100 at Walmart?
Me: Over $100.
Mr: Did we have enough money for that?
Me: Yes.
Mr. (big smile creeping across his face): We're rich!

Blue-Eyed Baby

This blue-eyed cutie came home today excited because a friend from class had invited him to a bike race. He kept asking if he could practice on his bike when he got home. So after supper, with the residue of the ice cream still on his face, we got out the bikes and both babies rode up and down the road in front of our house for about an hour. Both babies had a crash on some lose gravel, and One baby got her shoelace tangled up in her petal, nearly causing a crash.

The weather was so nice, and they were having such a fun time. And I was remembering my own staying-up-late days (riding in my P.J.'s) up and down our country driveway. I just couldn't call them in...until we had sqeezed the last drop of daylight out of the sky. With dark sneaking in, I had to do the adult thing and call my babies in for bed. At an hour past their bedtime, their tired heads finally rested on their pillows. In record time, they were entering dreamland. Love days like this. Not too many cool weather days around here, but a girl could get used to this.

Induction

Tonight was induction ceremony. Baby girl said the opening prayer. Baby boy got a new scarf for the next level of Adventurers club. I got to help out with the ceremony becaue I have my Master Guide award. I was so pleased to be able to place Baby Guy's new scarf.
And when I look at this picture in black and white, I can see that Baby Girl looks like a picture of her grandma (on her dad's side) from when she was a young school girl.

Sabbath Fun

After my much needed nap, the babies were ready for some time outside. I must say that we've felt a little touch of fall in the late afternoon or early morning hours over the past few days. Little Mr. got busy right away with drawing chalk pictures of our family (on the sidealk) and labling each one of them. Little Miss started out by blowing bubbles and showing me the double bubble she caught back on her wand.

Later, we got out the tricycle and Cozy Coupe car. She took her car out for an afternoon drive.

Until this happened. Her first car wreck.
 Brother came to her rescue.

Then it was off for an enving bike ride out of our neighborhood and into another nearby one.
She loved zooming down this micro-hill.
While he perfered to walk his bike down the hill. This is seriously such a great example of their personalities. Baby girl has no fear and is willing to try new things, even if they might be scary (get ready for some roller coaster riding when she's tall enough, Mom). And little Mr. is the super cautious one, always wary of new things.

Family Fun

This summer I was super excited to find a Groupon for a nearby place that my children absolutely LOVE. It is a place for the imagination and the Littles could spend an eternity there playing and imagining in all the different scenes they have set up. We were hoping to use the Groupon this summer with friends, but then the weather turned super rainy and foiled our plans. And so on a random Sunday, right before the Groupon expired, we made a last minute decision to take the kids. Here's how Baby Girl felt about it all on the way up the road to the entrance.

This crazy pile of tires and rope swing was a definite hit this time around. Baby girl also liked the little house for playing restaurant. Last time, it was the pirate ship.
At the top of the heap.
 Getting ready to ride.
They have this huge room full of costumes. You can put on anything and play there, or take the costumes with you and wear them for imaginary play throughout the gardens. This time there were quite a few less costumes than last year, and there were hardly any for boys, but who cares, when you find THE one. This police set made him all smiles.

He wore it everywhere until we had to take it off for lunch. Then it never found its way back on again.

Soccer Ball

He's so into soccer ball right now. I think it's because it's soccer season at school and he wanted to play so badly in the PreK-4th grade league. But when Daddy said, "Not this year," he took it pretty well. And so we picked up our own ball and cones to practice for next year's season. He is loving getting out in the back yard with Daddy and even took his ball camping last weekend and brought it out on Sunday morning to kick around.

10.06.2015

This past weekend was a weekend these two look forward to for a long time. Nearly every morning last week, little Mr. woke up and the first thing out of his mouth was, "3 days till we're going to camp. Two days till we're going to camp."

Our little explorer was well prepared for our trip.

Baby girl on the boardwalk.

She found lots of fall leaves and was excited as she picked up each one. To her, they were treasures.

This is the look that Little Mr. had as he drove away from camp. Then the tears started.

Two exhausted babies on the way home.

American Girl Store and Christmas Wishes

We love the American Girl books around here. What's not to love? These well-written books chronicle different time periods in American history by introducing a girl who is the main character of the piece of historical fiction. Each series of books, featuring a girl, has a coorsponding doll. We get the montly catalogue, but this was the first time we got to visit the store since there is not one in our town.

We had gotten notice a couple of weeks ago about the new 1950's doll, Mary-Ellen. She is the newest addition. We watched the video about the inspiration behind her, and were super excited to see her in person.

The Native American girl, Kaya and all her outfits and some accessories you can get with her. I loved the Teepee. It. Was. Cute.

Love this hat, from the girl, Kit. She's the one representing the 1930's. She wears a hat like this and they have ones so a little girl could match her. Seriously, love it!

Grace Thomas is a girl who visited Paris and was inspired to turn her passion of baking into a business. She also happens to be the Girl of the Year.

Grace's travel case is so cute, I wouldn't mind having one myself. :)

Grace's bakery is a little girl's dream. It is amazing! $500 amazing! Won't be taking it home anytime soon, but we sure had fun playing with it at the store.

Tiny cupcakes and cheesecakes from Grace's bakery.

This is Grace. When I asked my little girl which girl she would most like, this was the one she said. We'll see what happens at Christmas time.
