The First Day

Today is the first day of school for our sweet little babies...and they are just that, so little, too little to be sent off to school, but money won't allow me to stay home with them forever, and so we found the best place we could for them, a place where Baby Girl went last year, and she loves it.
Today Jade woke up around 7.
One of the first things she talked about was going to see Sissy...one of the kids at school.
She went over the details again, "Mommy pick you up, no....DADDY pick you up. Mommy drop you." (Mommy will drop her off in the mornings and Daddy will pick her up.)
She has a special breakfast of Apple Griddle Pancakes in the shape of Mickey Mouse, Stripples, and peaches with some orchard peach juice.
She kept talking about Sissy and Kalaini and Mrs. Shreaka.
She played nicely with Juice Man.
She wore her rainbow shirt with some jean shorts.
She wore her hair in ponytails.
Juice Dude wore a brown and blue striped onsie.
He had a breakfast of rice cereal and milk.
We read the Bible story about the shepherds finding Jesus.
We had prayer together asking Jesus to keep us all safe and help Jade to be a good girl.
We walked to their school.
We took pictures outside by the school sign.
We found out that Sissy and Kalaini (the ones Jade has been excited to see) are not going to be there today...they are on summer break.
We took pictures inside before I left.
We gave hugs and kisses and I told them I love them.
I left feeling sad and empty.
Jade did not cry and neither did Jude....or Mommy.
I am so very thankful for my time off with them and the extra time off being a teacher provides...I am so very lucky.
But...
Our house feels empty now.
It's just so quiet.
I can't wait for them to come home.
