My List

I'm thankful for...
1) Our playhouse. I'm not sure what it is about being outside in the fresh air, but if there was any crankiness, it tends to be left inside and when we're out in the sunshine, everyone seems happier. That playhouse in our back yard has been such a fun spot for the little babies. And I'm so glad we were able to purchase it at such a bargain.

2) My evaluation at work is over. It has been "coming" for a while now. Today it happened. And everything went well. I'm just relieved that it is over. And I'm glad that it turned out to be a perfect score. Don't know why it makes me nervous, but it always does even though I always try to do good stuff all the time.

3) Jude stood up by himself. First he was holding on to me. Then I let go. He must have stood there for several seconds. His little arms were out to the side helping him balance. But of course when I reached for the camera, he fell to his bottom. He's been trying find his balance for a couple of weeks now. He usually can hold it for just a second, but this time was his first real standing experience. WATCH OUT, WORLD! It won't be long now. Mr. Hands will be on the loose!

4) Thankful for a reduced workload. Trying to grade papers for around 20 students for all the classes we do each day is sometimes very time consuming. I am so happy that my students love to grade. We've been switching math papers and grading them. It has helped tremendously! I need to keep it up, definitely.

5) Thankful for peace. When I think of all the places right now that have fighting going on, I am thankful for the peace that we have in the U.S. I think we take for granted that so many countries are war torn constantly. Then I think of Egypt. And Cambodia (I guess there's fighting there right now). And I think back to the time when I was in Cambodia during a war to overthrow the government and how we were stuck in the county for several days in the mission with the walls shaking around us and soldiers in tanks and trucks marching through the streets outside. It was so scary. I am so thankful for the peace that we enjoy each day.

Each and every day, there are a thousand little things to smile about.
